Along with completing his piano performance degree at the Eastman School of Music, Lipinski enrolled in an innovative, one-of-a-kind honors program: Musical Arts Major. Together with the faculty committee, Lipinski crafted an interdisciplinary curriculum that culminated in a unique senior project: incorporating his lifetime interest in magic performance to the classical music concert. Lipinski participated in a series of independent studies with a theatre director, researched performance techniques of the 19th century artists, conceived the script for the 75-minute concert and premiered the show to the sold-out house. The MUA committee awarded Lipinski’s performance the Musical Arts Major with Excellence. The senior performance took place at Eastman’s recording studios on Wednesday, April 29, 2009.
